Huskies are the Best! Please remove the feeder plate - under the needle, and look for any fabric still jammed. Remove any way you can - small screwdriver, nail-file. (It will take removing a small screw or two.) Unless you find metal parts, broken bits, you did not break anything. Removing bunched fabric should do it.

On the other hand, if you do find broken parts - Viking is Amazing! They can machine broken parts of sewing machines and guns, back before 1900! Just remove any parts related to where fabric cound be jammed, remove all you find, and try again. Posted on Feb 17, 2018.

152 Answers SOURCE: Sergers are not really meant to sew very thick material. The blades have a maximum amount of range, or thickness that they can reach to cut. If you go outside that range, get ready for a big repair bill!

You can break loopers and even the needle plate when you 'push' a serger. My advise would be to use you sewing machine for the, 'pounding' work. The type of material matters too, A thick Quilt like fabric can be sewn becatuse it's not dense material. A thinner harder denim could max out at 3 layers because of it's hard finish. If the fabric you're sewing isn't dense like, you could just need new knives. Posted on Oct 14, 2009. Sergers are not really meant to sew very thick material.
